One of the busiest and most popular celebrations on Ocracoke Island occurs on July 4th. This year was no exception. The annual events include the sand scupture contest on the Lifeguard Beach, sky diving, antique auto display, parade, and fireworks over the Silver Lake Harbor.
The best of show in the sand sculpture was Aslan the Lion.
Shop owners report that we are having a record year for business
Locals find time in their busy schedules to decorate homes and create floats in the parade.
